SPIRE 2050 Roadmap: Call for contribution to be launched soon

< Back

SPIRE’s new 2050 Vision: “Towards the next generation of European Process Industries” foresees an integrated and digital European Process Industry, delivering new technologies and business models that address climate change and enable a fully circular society in Europe with enhanced competitiveness and impact for jobs and growth. This vision has been defined in a collaborative process among eight SPIRE sectors and presented to a broad network of stakeholders at the SPIRE Stakeholder’s workshop on 2 October 2018.

Now SPIRE is ready to take the next step towards putting the Vision 2050 into more concrete activities and actions in a form of SPIRE Roadmap 2050. The A.SPIRE Industrial Research and Innovation Advisory Group (IRIAG) has identified eight groups that will form the basis of this process:

  • SPIRE Roadmap Steering Group
  • G1 Energy Mix
  • G2 Electrification of Industrial Processes
  • G3 Use of Hydrogen
  • G4 Capture and Use of CO2
  • G5 Resource and Process Efficiency
  • G6 Industrial and Urban Symbiosis
  • G7 Digital

An official call to join these working groups will be launched to all A.SPIRE members early next year. The first working groups’ meeting end of February 2019 will kick off the Roadmap 2050 work. Contribution of all SPIRE sectors, as well as industrial and research members to this process will be essential. This is a crucial moment in a development of the future of SPIRE Public-Private Partnership and a momentum for eight major process industry sectors and beyond, to influence the strategic agenda and help shape the future of the process industry.

If your company or organization is not A.SPIRE member but you would like to contribute, please check our page on benefit of membership.
