Public Hearing - "European companies in indigenous territories of Latin America: from conflict to understanding through Prior Consultation"
The Regional Center for the Support of Global Compact in Latin America and the Caribbean, the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), and ZABALA Innovation Consulting, are pleased to invite you to the Public Hearing - "European companies in indigenous territories of Latin America: from conflict to understanding through Prior Consultation", which will take place on Thursday, 9 February, from 9:00 to 12:00 h, at the European Parliament in Brussels.
The event will aim to bring together public authorities, companies and representatives of indigenous communities and highlight the importance of implementing the processes of prior consultation as a guarantee of non-conflictive business activity in indigenous territories of Latin America.
It will include presentations by indigenous representatives participating in United Nations agencies, industry representatives and European experts in the field, in addition to the presentations of MEPs. Ramón Jáuregui (chair of Delegation to the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly) and Beatriz Becerra (vice-chair Subcommittee on Human Rights of the European Parliament) have confirmed their welcome.
